JKBOSE Announces 15% Syllabus Relaxation for Annual Class 10th and 12th Exams

There is good news for students of classes 10th, 11th, and 12th that the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has decided to give relaxation in syllabus for the Annual Regular 2025 examinations. This announcement has given relief to the students. The government has decided to give relief to students by reducing 15% syllabus in annual exams by keeping in view the disturbance caused by delayed session starts, severe heat waves, and floods that have affected the students’ education and disturbed classroom learning. Now the students have to attempt only 85% of the question paper, and marks will be calculated as 100%. The paper will be framed from the 100% syllabus, but students will be given choices in the paper.

  • Attempt Less, Score Full: The board will frame the question paper from 100% of the syllabus, but the students have to attempt only 85% of the paper of their choice; there will be flexibility for the students. 85% will be scaled as 100%.
  • Full Syllabus for Question Paper: Students must note that the paper will be framed 100% of the syllabus. But they have to attempt only 85%
  • Who is Eligible? This relaxation is for students in the Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of the Jammu Division, and the Union Territory of Ladakh.
  • Uniform Evaluation: The board has clarified that for language subjects, the marking pattern for multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and grammar sections will remain the same.

The decision to give \syllabus relaxation to students is made after keeping the circumstances in view that have affected the study pattern of students. Keeping in view the request of all the stakeholders and parents, the board has made the decision.

JKBOSE Class 10 Released Date Sheet 

Alongside the syllabus relaxation, JKBOSE has also officially released the Class 10 Date Sheet for the Annual Regular 2025 exams. The exams are set to begin on November 3, 2025.

Nearly 95,000 students are expected to take these exams, which mark the return to the traditional October-November session. From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, exams will be conducted.
